Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 6-8 ounces each), patted dry
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for searing
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons honey, liquid
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground if possible
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional for color and mild smokiness)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, fresh, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Dry the chicken breasts well and season them on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if using.
  2. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it glistens but does not smoke.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet without overlapping and cook undisturbed for 5 to 6 minutes until the bottom is golden and the chicken lifts easily.
  4. Turn the chicken over and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes until the thickest part reaches 165 degrees F on a meat thermometer.
  5. Meanwhile, stir together the softened butter and honey in a small bowl until creamy.
  6. Lower the heat and spoon the butter-honey mixture evenly over the chicken, letting it melt and coat the pieces for 1 to 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
