Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 6-8 ounces each), patted dry
- 2 tablespoons olive oil for searing
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons honey, liquid
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground if possible
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional for color and mild smokiness)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, fresh, for garnish
Instructions
- Dry the chicken breasts well and season them on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if using.
- Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it glistens but does not smoke.
- Add the chicken to the skillet without overlapping and cook undisturbed for 5 to 6 minutes until the bottom is golden and the chicken lifts easily.
- Turn the chicken over and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes until the thickest part reaches 165 degrees F on a meat thermometer.
- Meanwhile, stir together the softened butter and honey in a small bowl until creamy.
- Lower the heat and spoon the butter-honey mixture evenly over the chicken, letting it melt and coat the pieces for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
