Crock Pot Italian Beef

Ingredients

  • Roast
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1 diced onion
  • 7 minced garlic cloves
  • 3 cups unsalted beef broth
  • 1 packet Italian seasoning
  • 1 packet garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 12 oz jar banana pepper rings
  • Butter
  • Rolls
  • Provolone cheese
  • Giardinera

Instructions

  1. Season your roast (any kind will work) with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat up some oil in a skillet and brown the roast on all sides.
  3. Put the roast in the crockpot.
  4. In the same pan you browned the roast in, add a tbs of butter and cook a diced onion for 5 minutes.
  5. Add about 7 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.
  6. Stir in 3 cups of unsalted beef broth and scrape all the bits off the bottom of the pan.
  7. To the roast, sprinkle on 1 packet of Italian seasoning, 1 packet garlic and herb seasoning and 1 packet au jus gravy mix.
  8. Add a 12 oz jar banana pepper rings and the beef broth mixture.
  9. Cook on low 8-10 hours or high 6-8. Shred the meat.
  10. Butter some rolls and broil for a few minutes until toasted.
  11. Add provolone cheese and broil again until cheese is melted.
  12. Top with the shredded meat and giardinera.
  13. Serve with liquid from the meat for dipping.
