Caramelized Onion & Chili Oil Pasta
Ingredients
- 10 oz pasta spaghetti
- 2 large onions sliced
- 2 tablespoons + 2 tablespoons chili oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Mince garlic
- Slice onions thinly
- Add olive oil and butter to a pan . Add onions and caramelize . Cooking on low heat while stirring for about 30 minutes. Do not rush the process. Low heat. If they are burning at a bit of water and continue to stir. They are caramelized when soft and brown and jammy.
- Remove the onions to a bowl.
- Add 2 tablespoons chili oil to the pan. Add the garlic. While stirring. 15 seconds on low heat.
- Pour in the heavy whipping cream slowly while mixing.
- As it thickens on low heat. Add in the pasta and Parmesan cheese.
- REMOVE from the heat quickly so that the heavy whipping cream and oil DONT SEPARATE.
- Garnish with chili oil and parsley.
